Call Me Invinsible
Call Me Invinsible
I was asked to create the 2009 tour art for two of my favorite Rock-n-Roll Chicks, Deborah Harry & Pat Benatar, after Chris Stein (Blondie's Guitarist) discovered my NOLA Girl series hanging at ANGELI on Decatur in the French Quarter when he was visiting New Orleans with his family in early 2009. - My first idea is the one everyone went with. The job went pretty smoothly considering all of the people in the mix that had to approve it from a layout/painting to final PhotoShop art. I altered the main image to fit on different sized promotional ads and on merchandise offered for sale to the fans at the concerts; tshirts, key-chains and the 13"x 19" poster. My art was a big hit for all involved. The 2009 summer tour, "Call Me Invincible" was a great success and I am very happy I was involved in this piece of rock & roll history. - THX for finding me, Chris Stein !!!
I signed and numbered the 300 posters given to me from the 2009 "Call Me Invincible" tour company.
Posters #1 throught #100 were signed by the members of BLONDIE. I will always be grateful for the kindness and graciousness of Debb Harry back stage in Biloxi, Mississippi on August 22, 2009. I was star-struck by her beauty in person and her on-stage power. I am especially thankful for the generosity of all of BLONDIE & Neil Giraldo for signing 100 of my posters before they hit the stage that night.
